ARITAO, Nueva Vizcaya, Oct. 15 (PIA) – More than 1,700 elderlies in this town recently received early Christmas gifts from the provincial government.
Mayor Lucita Tan said the gift-giving activity was conducted in support of the Elderly Month Celebration sponsored by their local government unit through the Office of the Senior Citizens’ Affairs (OSCA) and in partnership with the provincial government.
Mayor Tan, Vice Mayor Ruben Sayo and former Gov. Ruth Padilla, now consultant at the office of the governor led the distribution of gifts such as blankets, umbrerllas and towels, among others.
Centenarian Gertrudes Mendoza of barangay Darapidap also received P20,000.00 checque from the LGU Aritao as an incentive through the Centenarian Ordinance of the municipality.
Mendoza is also set to receive P.1 million from the provincial government also through the same ordinance of the province.
“We are truly grateful for our LGU officials who continue to watch for our welfare and provide us with various assistance. We hope for their unending support and understanding on our sector,” Adelina Galvan,the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs president said.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
