27th Minbizcon opens in Tagum City


TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte, Sept. 13 (PIA)— With some 800 participants, the 27th Mindanao Business Conference (Minbizcon) today opens at Big 8 Corporate Hotel in Tagum City. 

Bannering the theme, “Building a Shared Future for Mindanao”, the 27th Minbizcon is opened this morning by Ma. Alegria S. Limjoco, president of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCII).

Up for discussion ont he first day of the  Minbizcon are the topics: The Shift to Federal Form of Government, Investment Prospects in the Bangsamoro and Peace by Piece. 

Other Day 1 topics lined up are Business Opportunities with China; Tagum City, the Most Competitive and Thriving  City; Tourism Initiatives for Mindanao; and Package 2 of the Comprehensive Tax Reform Program. 

Mayor Allan Rellon is set to sponsor  the Day One evening session of participants.

The Day 2 sessions will tackle the topics: The Potential of Economic Zones; Retail Competition and Open Access & Renewable Energy in Mindanao;  Building Solutions to the Build, Build, Build.

Other topics up for day two discussion are Banana: A Model of Sustainable Agriculture; Renewable Energy—Solar; Japan’s Outlook in Mindanao. 

The 27th Minbizcon’s day two will feature a Dialogue with Cabinet Secretaries: Sec Mark A. Villar of the Dept. of Public Works of Highways, Sec Arthur P. Tugade of the Dept. of Transportation and Usec. Zenaida Maglaya of the Department of Trade and Industry;

Participants are expecting for President Rodrigo Duterte as he is invited as the guest of honor in the afternoon of Day 2 Plenary Session.
