Army commander visits MILF camp

COTABATO CITY, Aug. 23 (PIA)—Joint Task Force Central Commander, Brigadier General Cirilito Sobejana recently visited the hallowed ground of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) at Camp Darapanan in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao as a sign of commitment in pursuing peace and development.

Together with brigade and battalion commanders, Brig. Sobejana’s visit aims to build trust and confidence between the military and the MILF Central Committee, chaired by Al-haj Murad Ibrahim.

“The visit is an opportunity for us to listen to MILF’s future programs and activities in as far as the approval of the Bangsamoro Organic Law is concerned,” Sobejana said.

He also emphasized that like the MILF, the military is also looking forward to achieving peace and progress for all.

“In war, we cannot get enough, but in talking, we can get more than we expect,” he said, adding that the military is in full support and cooperation with all the noble intentions and undertakings of the MILF.
