Buglasan 2018 Organic Family Farm Congress slated in October

DUMAGUETE CITY, Sept. 25 (PIA)—The Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO) will once again hold the annual Buglasan 2018 Organic Farm Family Congress  on Oct. 1-3, 2018 at the PAO-Nursery Compound, Dumaguete City.

This year’s celebration carries the theme: “Developing Negros Oriental Towards A Sustainable Organic Farm Tourism Destination” featuring booth display by districts and showcase various organic farm products from farmers in Negros Oriental.

Miss 4-H Club beauty pageant will highlight the three-day activity and various competitions such as farmer and fisher folk quiz bee, extemporaneous speaking contest, master chef cooking contest, 4-H club poster making drawing, zumba dance contest, minus-one singing contest, and dance sport contest.

Governor Roel Degamo will meet with the farmers and fisher folks during the Governor’s Night on October 1 at the Conference Hall of Provincial Agriculture Office.

Senator Cynthia Villar will keynote the opening activity and she is expected to provide inputs on the formulation of organic fertilizer for the province to learn and produce its own in order to subsidize the farmers’ needs on organic fertilizer, according to Belinda Villahermosa, head of Negros Oriental Organic Agriculture Management Council (NOOAMC).
