General Trias City, Cavite, Jan. 11 (PIA) – The Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP) recently entered into a partnership agreement with the local government of General Trias to further improve its administration and provision of services to its constituents.
The undertaking will involve projects for the automation of its human resource and payroll processing and the setting-up of Point-of-Sale system (POS) and internet payment gateway (IPG) facilities.
“With the POS facility, residents and business owners in General Trias City can now pay their real property taxes using debit, credit and prepaid cards, while the IPG would facilitate online acceptance of payments of the taxpayers’ real property and business dues, ”DBP president and chief executive officer Cecilia Borromeo said.
DBP will also install two additional ATMs in the city to serve the local government’s employees and its residents.
General Trias City Mayor Antonio Ferrer explained that these improvements will help the city government create payment options for the convenience of its resident constituents which will result to increase in tax collections as well as efficiency in services provided to residents and generate savings from decrease in operational expenses.
