BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Nov. 8 (PIA) — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) provincial office has surpassed its targets set for the National Greening Program (NGP) and Patent Processing Issuance (PPI).
Forester Edgar Martin, Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer said that under the NGP, they have already produced at least 137,303 seedlings at present, which is already equivalent to 104 percent accomplishment of their target for this year.
“We aim to establish plantations with a total area of 155 hectares through forging of memorandum of agreements (MOAs) with private organizations and local government units,” he said.
Martin added that they are also maintaining and protecting plantations established in 2016 and 2017 with a total area of 4,439 hectares.
According to Martin, they hired 13 extension officers as additional workers to ensure the success of the project with the NGP partners and other stakeholders.
On PPI, he said they have surpassed their target of 318 and accomplished 393 Residential Free Patent Applications (RFPA) which is equivalent to 123 percent.
Under the Agricultural Free Patent (AFP), Martin said they have already processed and transmitted 119 land patents to the Register of Deeds (ROD) which is also equivalent to 135 percent accomplishment.
“Aside from these patents, we have also issued 3 special patents for government lots and 4 others for school sites. We have also resolved and disposed 8 land cases in the province which accounts for our 100 percent accomplishment,” Martin further said.
