ROXAS CITY, Capiz, Sept. 25 (PIA) — The best public elementary and secondary school implementers of the Brigada Eskwela 2018 in this city were recognized by the Department of Education (DepEd)-Roxas City Division in an awarding ceremony, Sept. 20, here.
The Roxas City government, barangay officials, private companies, businessmen, some government agencies and community members were also cited in the recognition program for their support to Brigada Eskwela which helped the school to be ready and be conducive for learning.
DepEd-Roxas City officer-in-charge Schools Division Superintendent Felisa B. Beriong led the school officials in recognizing the various stakeholders for their contribution to the annual school maintenance week.
“Without them, we will have no best school implementers. All of these are made possible because of your help,” Beriong said.
Awarded as champions in the elementary level were Don Jose Acevedo Elementary School, Plaridel East Elementary School (PEES), and Don Ynocencio Del Rosario Memorial School (DYDRMS) for the small, medium and large school categories, respectively.
In the secondary level, the integrated schools of Olotayan and Marcos Fuentes, Roxas City School for Philippine Craftsmen and Congressman Ramon A. Arnaldo High School bested their counterparts in the small, medium, large and mega schools categories, respectively.
PEES and DYDRMS were also awarded the Hall of Fame Award.
All the awardees, including first and second runners up, were also given tribute in what seemed to be a virtual community singing of “We Are The Champions” song.
This year’s Brigada Eskwela kicked off May 28 at DYDRMS in Barangay Dayao here to prepare the schools for the June 4 opening of classes. (LTP/AAL/PIA Capiz)
