DSWD Mimaropa asks public to support upcoming Listahanan assessment

QUEZON CITY, May 31 (PIA) —  The Department of Social Welfare and Development –Mimaropa is seeking public support for the holding of the Listahanan 3rd Round Assessment (L3).

Listahanan is a government mechanism to map out the poor nationwide: the 2015 household assessment has identified 221,324 out of the 584,562 households assessed as poor.

Data from Listahanan has helped government agencies (including the academe) craft poverty reducing strategies, projects and researches.

 “We are calling the private and public institutions and individuals to join hand in this quadrennial activity particularly those living in rural and geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas in Mimaropa,” Regional Coordinator Ernie H.Jarabejo said.

Jarabejo said L3 will cover 186,616 target households in Oriental Mindoro; 95,122 households in Occidental Mindoro; 50,618 households in Marinduque; 65,436 households in Romblon; and 224,438 households in Palawan.

Total number of targeted households for L3 in Mimaropa is 622,230 which is expected to be implemented in the middle of 2019.

Beneficiaries of DSWD programs such as Sustainable Livelihood, Social Pension, and Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program are required to be interviewed.

About 1.153 field staff will be deployed during the conduct of L3 and they will be using paper and pencil instead of the mobile mode of enumeration used in previous assessments. (LP/DSWD-Mimaropa)
