CLARK FREEPORT ZONE, Pampanga, July 13 (PIA) — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will launch a certification lending program that will address the financing requirements of the food sector.

“There is a need to implement an anchor program that will start off with the food sector to meet the requirements for licensing and certification,” DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez said during the opening of the National MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) Summit 2018.

The program will help MSMEs in complying with licensing and certification necessary to help them legally operate and compete in the domestic and international markets.

Meanwhile, Lopez emphasized the need to undertake capacity building programs which includes mapping of financial institution policies and requirements and translating loan application and/or processes in the vernacular. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
