BANTAY, Ilocos Sur, August 30 – – “It’s the fulfilled experience that money cannot buy; it’s the happiness that we have seen in every athlete’s eyes.”
These were the words from FWD Life Philippines Head of Marketing and Community Care Lead Rochelle Vandenberghe when asked about the reward they have gained during the 2018 Special Olympics National Games from August 1 to 4, here.
Eight from the FWD Life Insurance Manila Team came to Ilocos Sur to support the intellectually disabled athletes in pursuing their abilities and talents through sports.
They were designated in the food and secretariat department while some showed their support to the athletes by cheering them on their games.
Vandenberghe said that it was their first time to be a part of a major endeavor of Special Olympics.
She noted: “I think truly from our hearts, they gave so much that we can even learn and we can’t even imagine to learn. We are humbled by just seeing the athletes so full of life in everyday adversities. We all have problems and yet here they are so full of life and so full of joy.”
Pan-Asian insurer FWD Life Insurance launched its global partnership on Community Care with Special Olympics on April 23, 2018. Through this partnership, FWD hopes to accomplish its dream of an inclusive environment with equal opportunities for people with disabilities.
“So it’s really something that we’ll be bringing with us as we go on in this journey. This is a long term relationship in partnership with Special Olympics and rest assured that we will be here all throughout in our capacity as a company and capacity as an individual who came here today,” she added.
FWD Life Insurance Corporation “FWD Life” is focused on making innovative customer experiences, with easy-to-understand products, supported by digital technology.
Vandenberghe said FWD Life aims to become a leading pan-Asian insurer that changes the way people feel about insurance through this customer-led approach. (JNPD/JMQ/PIA-1, Ilocos Sur)
