Government agencies, MILF-CCCH to intensify campaign against illegal drugs

COTABATO CITY, June 6 (PIA) –The Joint Task Force Central and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front’s Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (MILF-CCCH) met on Tuesday to discuss the government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs in Central Mindanao.

The activity, which was held at Camp Siongco, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao, aimed to review and revisit the respective mandates of all concerned agencies in the government’s campaign against illegal drugs.

JTF Central Commander Brig. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana said the meeting also discussed issues concerning coordinations and the actual conduct of anti-drugs operations.

He said they are expected “to come up with measures to minimize, if not eradicate concerns experienced in the previous operations in all affected communities within Central Mindanao with proper inter-agency coordination.”

Sobejana emphasized that an inter-agency coordination, collaboration, and cooperation with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) as lead agencies in drug operations is needed for the success of the campaign.
