NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, Aug. 8 (PIA) — Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson commended the police officers of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) for their courage and commitment to service.
“As I begin my fresh term and mandate as governor, I want to extend my appreciation for your selfless and courageous service, especially in those times when you are in the face of danger as a consequence of law enforcement,” Lacson conveyed.
According to the governor, these police authorities are now gaining the public trust which needs to be sustained.
Lacson also advised the people to consider the police force as an ally and protector as their safety and interest are of utmost concern relative to President Rodrigo Duterte’s aim of working hand in hand to combat illegal drug proliferation, criminality, and corruption.
The newly-elected governor further assured the troops of the provincial government’s support in its programs to pave way for the continued progress and improvement.
Lacson, who spoke during the NOCPPO’s Flag Raising and “Pagkilala 2019” Awarding Ceremony, urged the police to espouse legal and moral uprightness.
“I believe that in order to be effective servants of society and to preserve the command and respect fit for the PNP, every man in uniform must be an epitome of both legal and moral uprightness,” Lacson emphasized.
Meanwhile, provincial director Police Colonel Romeo Baleros, National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) provincial director Mae Diamante, and NOCPPO deputy provincial director for administration Plt. Col. Adrian Acollador and Gov. Lacson, led the awarding of the Top Performing Police Stations in the province in various categories.
The police stations in Bago City and Pontevedra were awarded as Top Performing Station on Arrest of Wanted Persons.
Top performers on Campaign Against Illegal Drugs were credited to Victorias City Police Station and EB Magalona Municipal Police Station.
In terms of the Campaign Against Loose Firearms, the Escalante City Police Station and Isabela Municipal Police Station were recognized as top performers.
On the other hand, the Silay City Police Station and San Enrique Municipal Police Station were declared as Top Performing Stations on Campaign Against Illegal Gambling. (LTP/LML-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
