LAOAG CITY, August 30 (PIA) – –  The Search for Model Family this year will be as grand as it was in the previous years, to highlight the month of September in the province of Ilocos Norte.

According to the Gender and Development (GAD) Officer Janet London, the event aims to strengthen families to have a better relationship by celebrating the true meaning of the family.

“There are 21 participants from different  towns in the province for the search,” said London.

London explained that there are only three categories for the event: Professional, Non-professional, and Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) categories.

The Search for Model Family is celebrated annually under the initiative of Governor Imee Marcos to remember the importance of family.

The awarding ceremony is conducted every month of September to mark the province’s celebration of the National Family Week.

Launched in 1995, the search has been conducted by the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte to further promote good family practices and values worth emulating for a progressive community. (JNPD/CJDG, PIA-1, Ilocos Norte)
