Isabela bares activities for 'Coop Month' this October

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, Oct. 3 (PIA) – The Isabela Provincial Cooperative Development Council (IPCDC)  will conduct various activities in celebration of the Cooperative Month this October.

Lilia Castillo, Isabela Provincial Cooperative Development officer said the provincial government highlights cooperative month celebration annually to recognize best  performing cooperatives.

This year’s celebration is geared towards the theme “COOPERATIVES: Partners for building resilient and empowered communities towards a better and stronger Philippines”.

Castillo said one of the highlights of the celebration is the Faustino N. Dy Sr. Awards that will be given to cooperatives who have excelled in the management and were able to increase their assets for the benefit of their members. 

Kick-off events include cooperative logo making contest, feature writing and quiz bee that wereconducted at the Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO). To drumbeat the celebration, streamers carrying the theme were displayed in all cooperatives offices and local government units. 

On October 9, 2018, a bloodletting activity will be conducted at the PCDOfor  officers and members of coopertives in Isabela. On October 10, 2018, there will be  a mainstreaming of Eskwela Kooperatiba for the development of laboratory cooperative, while regional conference and cooperative trade fair will also be conducted at the FG. N Dy Sr. Hall.

Meanwhile, oathtaking of Isabela Agriculture Cooperatives Federation, launching of COOP News publication, IPCDC choral march competition, 19th Gov. Faustino N. Dy Sr awards for best performing cooperatives, leaders and councils, and coop trade fair will also be conducted at the F. M. Dy Sr hall on October 11, 2018. (MDCT/MGE/PIA 2-Isabela)
