CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, Oct. 11, (PIA) – As part of the celebration of the National Teachers Month, the Provincial Government of Isabela honored the Ten Outstanding Teachers in the province on Monday (October 8).
Gov. Faustino G. Dy III led the awarding ceremony held at the Faustino N. Dy Sr. Hall at the provincial capitol and attended by teachers province-wide. The event was also graced by His Excellency Most Reverend Bishop Emeritus Joseph A. Nacua and Sanggunian Panlalawigan member Karen G. Abuan, chairperson on Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs of the province.
Dy said their valuable contribution in providing quality education is commendable. He vowed to support the programs of the Department of Education (DepEd) – Isabela.
Victor Martin Balisi, a teacher from Mallig Central School in Mallig town was awarded as Most Outstanding Teacher while Maryjane Baccay, teacher of Isabela School for the Blind was given the Natatanging Pagkilala award.
The other awardees are: Rex Delos Reyes (San Manuel town), Judy Ricardo (Tumauini town), Olive Benitez (San Manuel town), Judith Daracan (Angadanan town), Betchie Aguinaldo (San Mateo town) Noimi Tattao (Cauayan City), Mila Angobung (Tumauini town), Sherryl Uy (City of Ilagan), Dino Paolo Julian (Gamu town) and Racquel Peralta (Mallig town).
They were given cash prizes and Plaque of Recognition from the Provincial Government.
The Search for the Ten Oustanding Teachers of Isabela, done in collaboration with the Office of Congressman Rodito T. Albano III, is a tribute to all Isabeleño teachers who also serve as second parents to the youth.
Presidential Proclamation No. 242 declares September 5 to October 5 of every year as National Teachers’ Month, as well as Republic Act No. 10743 entitled “An Act Declaring the Fifth Day of October as National Teachers’ Day.” (MDCT/MGE/ PIA 2-Isabela)
