Michael V gets nominated for Asian TV Awards

Renowned Filipino Comedian Michael V. could once again give honor to the Philippine entertainment industry as he named among the contenders for this year’s Asian Television Awards (ATA).

The Kapuso star was nominated for Best Comedy Performance Award for his laudable performance in GMA 7’s weekend sitcom “Pepito Manaloto,” that has been on-air since March 2010.

They’d love to see me win! Me? I just want to see SG again,” Michael V. posted on Twitter.

A multi-awarded actor, Michael V. has been recognized by the ATA for three consecutive years in 2004, 2005 and 2006 in the same category; allowing him to be listed among the Hall of Fame of the award-giving body.

This December, he will be competing against comedians from Singapore, Hong Kong, and India.

Meanwhile, GMA’s game show “Celebrity Bluff” was also nominated in the ATA for the Best Game or Quiz Programme category, wherein it will compete against seven other shows from Thailand, China, Indonesia, and Korea.

Organized by the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation in 1987, the ATA aims to appreciate those who have shown excellence in the Asian entertainment industry. In 1994, the Television Asia Plus magazine has assumed the management of the annual awards, and has been successful in gathering nearly 1,400 entries every year.
