QUEZON CITY, August 9 (PIA) – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced on Thursday the closure of Sevilla Bridge in Mandaluyong City this weekend.
According to MMDA, the Sevilla Bridge, which connects the cities of Mandaluyong and San Juan, will be closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday, August 10 starting at 10pm as the contractor of Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 – Section 2B will move two 180 tonner crane to be used for the installation of the coping beams.
The bridge will reopen to traffic on Sunday, August 11 at 10am. MMDA advises motorists to take alternate routes.
The Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 is an 18.68-kilometer elevated expressway starting from Buendia in Makati to Balintawak in Quezon City.
The project is expected to reduce travel time from 15 to 20 minutes from the current two hours. (MMDA)
