SAN JOSE, Antique, Sept. 27 (PIA) — National Food Authority (NFA) Provincial Manager Marianito B. Bejemino officially announced that NFA warehouses in San Jose and in Culasi, Antique are now open for palay procurement.
Bejemino said the NFA is now open for palay procurement at the government support price of P17 per kilo clean and dry plus P0.20/kg drying incentive; P0.20/kg. up to 0.50/kg delivery incentive depending on the distance; and P0.30/kg Cooperative Development Incentive fee for NFA accredited farmer organizations.
NFA is also accepting wet palay with moisture content (MC) not exceeding 30 percent. The price of wet or freshly harvested palay will vary depending on its MC.
On areas where farm gate price of palay are relatively low, mobile procurement teams will be deployed, said Information Officer Lorelyn Bayog. The local government units are requested to coordinate with NFA when mobile procurement is needed.
Farmers could directly sell their produce to NFA Provincial Office located at Barangay San Fernando, San Jose, Antique or to NFA Satellite Office at Caridad, Culasi, Antique.
Individual farmers who are non-NFA-passbook holders could also sell their palay produce to NFA with a maximum of 200 bags for the first time. For their succeeding deliveries, farmers will be asked to secure NFA farmer’s passbook.
