NEGROS OCCIDENTAL, Aug. 8 (PIA) — Following atrocities and killings in nearby Negros Oriental, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) assured intensified check points and border control operations to prevent spill-over in the province.
NOCPPO director PCOL Romeo Baleros believes that the atrocities caused by the communist terrorists are unnecessary and are counterproductive.
“Armed struggle is not the solution to the societal problems,” Baleros said as he extends the invitation to the New People’s Army to avail of the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) which would help them if they want to return to their normal and peaceful civilian lives.
Baleros said that during the start of atrocities in Negros Oriental which started with the torture and killing of four police officers who are monitoring the wanted persons in their area, blocking forces were already deployed focusing on the borders in the areas of Ayungon and Guihulngan towns in Negros Oriental.
Meanwhile, NOCPPO is now intensifying police security in the areas of Moises Padilla and San Carlos City which are adjacent to Guihulngan, as well as the outskirts of the towns of La Castellana, Isabela and the 6th District of Negros Occidental.
Baleros also appealed to educational institutions and to parents to guide and educate their children well so they will not be misled and recruited by the NPA terrorists and its organizations. (LTP/EAD-PIA6 Negros Occidental)
