CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro, July 2 (PIA) — No less than the new Governor of Oriental Mindoro led the recent blood donation drive held by the Oriental Mindoro Blood Council (OMBC) and the Philippine Red Cross at the provincial capitol.
“I have been donating blood since as early as 18 years old. Since then, I used to donate blood every time a blood-letting activity happens like this,” said Governor Humerlito Dolor who was former OMBC chairman.
The new governor has drawn first blood kicking off the donation at the Tamaraw Hall right after his oath-taking.
Dolor believes blood-letting activities not only help the sick and the injured but also makes donors healthy themselves.
Blood drawn from donors triggers the bone marrow to produce fresh blood necessary to circulate nutrients in their bodies.
Dolor’s brother and new Provincial Administrator, Hubbert Christopher, likewise joined the blood-letting activity. (LTC/DN/PIA-Calapan)
