DUPAX DEL NORTE, Nueva Vizcaya, Dec. 3 (PIA) – Municipal officials here are pushing for the promotion of the Naruron Falls in barangay Oyao as a major tourism attraction of the local government unit.

Mayor Timothy Joseph Cayton has earlier signed Executive Order No. 13 series of 2016, organizing the Municipal Tourism Council (MTC) for the implementation of tourism development initiatives in the municipality.

“The Naruron Falls is one of the major eco-tourism attractions of our municipality and developing and improving it further will contribute to the economic livelihood of our villagers,” he said.

Representative Luisa Cuaresma here, on the otherhand, has already presented the House Bill No. 7855 entitled “An Act  Declaring Naruron Falls Situated In Barangay Oyao, Dupax Del Norte, Nueva Vizcaya as Eco-Tourism Site and Appropriating Funds Therefore” in the Congress’ Committee on Tourism chaired by Rep. Corazon Nunez-Malanyaon.

Cuaresma said she already attended the first meeting of the committee last November 28 and expects that the bill she filed will go on smoothly so that it will trigger development efforts among local and national government agencies for the benefit of the province. (ALM/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
